As
2010 chair and co-creator of this virtual collaborative,
I am pleased to report that work is well underway to organize
and execute a program
of events that will be exciting and relevant for all
Houston area transportation industry professionals in observance
of National Transportation Week in 2010.

are extremely pleased to announce that Harris County Judge
Ed Emmett has agreed to serve as Honorary NTW Houston
Chair for 2010.
Judge
Emmett is recognized widely for his expertise and knowledge
of Houston area transportation issues.

State Senator Mike Jackson, District 11

Mike
Jackson
was elected to the Texas Senate in 1998 and represents Senate
District 11, which includes portions of Harris, Brazoria
and Galveston Counties.
Senator
Jackson chairs the Senate Nominations Committee and is a
member of the Senate State Affairs, Government Organization
and Natural Resources Committees and the Subcommittee on
Agriculture, Rural Affairs and Coastal Resources. Senator
Kackson is also a five-term veteran from House District
129.

Legler
represents House District 144 in the Texas Legislature.
As a third generation Texan and Pasadena native, Representative
Legler is active in the local business community and has
served as a board member for the Chamber of Commerce and

to his election to the Texas House, Representative Legler
served as Chairman of the Federal Environmental Protection
Agency National Advisory Board.

Organizations with a Purpose
The
purpose of NTWHouston.org is to provide a universally accessible
virtual hub for information about promotional events sponsored
by Houston transportation industry organizations in observance
of National Transportation Week.
The
not-for-profit Houston area transportation organizations that
participate in NTW reflect a commitment to education, community
service and the advancement of professional development. The
combined membership of these organizations numbers more than 1,500
transportation industry professionals.
A
Continuing Tradition
National
Transportation Week is an important tradition in Houston, and
one worth continuing. I encourage visitors to join with
NTW Houston and support our cause as we work to position transportation
at the forefront of industry in the Houston area.
The
